Kellogs Clone Trooper Helmet Conversion

 

Another old project that I kept a few photos of is the flimsy Kellogs clone trooper helmet that was given away free with cereals in Canada (I Think)
   
  • The mask comes in two halves, front and back. The first step is to remove the visor.
 
 
       
 
 
         
  • As it comes the helmet is too small for an adult head so the two halves need to be stuck together using an extra shim of plastic. The rear vent is then in the wrong place so you need to cut this out move it back to the shim and fill the resulting hole
 
 
 
  • You'll also need some spare plastic to cover the ear pannels.
 
 
         
   
 
         
  • The fin is also the wrong shape so you need to trim the existing fin and add a new fin.
 
 
       
 
 
       
 
 
       
 
         
  • To strengthen the helmet the interior was coated with fiber glass and then painted with black paint and PVA glue (the PVA is used to deaden the resin smell)
 
 
         
  • After being filled and sanded a coat of primer is applied
 
 
         
  • Followed by a coat of white
 
 
         
  • Then the details were added and a mirrored visor
